Hi Gabrielle!
I like this idea you call "brainwash yourself with good thoughts" - that's another way of saying "train your thoughts not to keep obsessing" - it's definitely the best way to go over it all.

Peter, sounds like we've got a lot in common - since I've also moved and gone back to teaching, I've got to find my balance again. It's definitely a process, and sometimes you have start over, but as long as you keep trying to find the balance, I believe it will come.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for stopping by! I'm the author and I'm okay - just extremely busy/exhausted. I'm also an instructor and lately, I haven't had enough hours in the day so some things just haven't gotten done - updating this blog is one of them. I certainly intend to return to frequently updating this blog again when I get some time off. Thanks for asking! :)

I definitely do what I want and I do things my way with no regrets, but I have done my best to model my own goals in a manner consistent with the Gospels and the teachings of Jesus.

In fact, I think it is entirely possible that such an approach (at least for some) can be a strong weapon to use against the devil's temptations and trickery. We all know right from wrong deep down. Some of us simply are more open to the concept of rationalizing wrong in such a way that it appears indecipherable from right, thus enabling one to do wrong without guilt or emotional consequence.

It all depends upon whether one's impulses are based upon human instinct or a trained methodology of thought derived from the teachings of our Lord.

BTW, where's the author? Is he/she okay health wise? I haven't seen anything new posted here since 2011. What's up with that?

In my case, I definitely work too much. I am my employer, and I run a pretty tight ship. Answering to me has proven difficult and challenging, as it seems no matter how hard I work or how good the quality of my work it, it never seems to be good enough for me.

I took some steps to try to bring some semblance of balance into my life when I moved to a modest condominium on the beach along the gulf coast of a southern U.S. state. I enjoy both the beach and fishing, and being single figured that when combined with an awful real estate market made for the perfect change-of-scenery.

In the process of moving the business. Implementing some changes too in which activities will be streamlined and more efficient, which at least in theory should result in some available time in which to pursue leisure activities.
