______________________________________________

There’s so much to tell you, but in an attempt to keep from boring you until you want to gouge your eyes out, I’ll make this as brief as I can.

What I’ve been doing:
I’ve worn many hats in my lifetime. I’ve been a secretary, a nail tech, an English teacher at both secondary and college levels. In between times, I’ve sold both Avon and Mary Kay (I know!) I freelance and ghostwrite online and off.

I received both my Bachelors and Masters in English from the University of Toledo. While there, I was lucky enough to receive the Helen M. Fields Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the Field of English in 2007.

My undergrad concentration was Creative Writing.  I’ve finally finished my book Be a Blessing: 77 Ways to Bless Others. No, it’s not published yet, I’m currently researching my options, but if you know of a good Christian book publisher, please let me know – you can leave it in the comments section below.

Church Ministries:

In the past, I’ve been the editor of my church newsletter (youth department), a part of the Mime Ministry (yes, white paint and robes – watch the videos of you have moment), and regular attendee of the Monthly Women’s Book Club and weekly Bible Study. I was also a member of the Annual Women’s Retreat Committee.

I love traveling with my family. We’ve traveled all around the eastern US: Chicago (my fav), Detroit, Cleveland, Virginia Beach (another fav), Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Mississippi and wherever else in between. I eventually want to make it out west and see places such as LA, Vegas, and Phoenix. I’d like to go on a few mission trips to places like South Africa and Jamaica, maybe even Haiti. One day I’d like to tour in England, France, Mexico and China just because.

I love arts and crafts: sewing, painting, jewelry making, photography and scrap-booking.

I collect Barbies, Brats dolls and I love doll house miniatures.

Although this the last bit of info I’m offering about myself, it’s actually the most important and what I’m most proud of:
I’ve been married for 17 years with three children.

Anyway, that is me. If you’re still reading I guess that means you still have both of your eyes and have chosen not to gouge them out in boredom. :) Thanks!

    Kiesha,
What a small world! First off, you inspire me! Keep doing what you’re doing. I am a writer, inspirational speaker and a life coach. I live in Columbia, SC and have also lived in Atlanta, GA. I’ve never been to Ohio though. :-) I am originally from Fresno, CA.
I have two friends who are beautiful Christian Woman with families of their own and they both have publishing co. 1) is Nezzies Tales CEO Omi-Taylor Holmes. She’s an awesome poetest/author and 2) is Dunn Deal Publishing CEO Lucinda Dunn who is doing major things in the market! You can find them both on fb. Just tell them the referral is from one Christian sistah to the next! :-) God Bless!

MAYBE I WAS SUPPOSE TO STUMBLE ACROSS YOUR BLOG BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER IS CONTEMPLATING IF SHE SHOULD GO TO UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO AND HER NAME IS CHELSEA. THE IRONY IS THAT I WENT STRAIGHT TO YOUR “ALL ABOUT ME” PAGE AND READ ABOUT TOLDEO AND ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE YOU SEND A HELLO TO A FOLLOWER ON TWITTER NAMED CHELSEA. LIFE IS GOOD!

    Hi Rosemarie!
That’s amazing! That’s my alma mater! There’s some awesome instructions there. What is she thinking about majoring in?

SHE WANTS TO BE A PHARMACIST. WE WENT ON A ROAD TRIP LAST OCTOBER AND VISITED THE COLLEGE AS WELL AS OHIO STATE AND UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN. PICTURE A SINGLE MOM FROM NEWYORK ON A ROAD TRIP WITH HER 3 CHILDREN, AGES 17,16 AND 12 AND HER 18 YEAR OLD NEPHEW WHO WANTED TO COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE. IT WAS CRAZY BUT WE HAD A GREAT TIME.

A pharmacist! Wow, that’s wonderful! The sky is the limit, I’m sure whichever school she chooses, she’ll excel. Aren’t those crazy road trips the best? While you’re in it, it seems stressful, but then something funny happens and it becomes the story and the experience of a lifetime. When I moved to SC last summer, it was a National Lampoon experience – break downs, Walmart parking lots and all!

YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE ROAD TRIPS! MY DAUGHTER HAS HER WORK CUT OUT BUT I KNOW THAT ALL WILL BE WELL WITH HER. SO GLAD TO HAVE FOUND YOUR BLOG AND WILL KEEP IN TOUCH. LOOKING FORWARD TO READING ALL THE POSTS. THANK YOU.
