There’s so much to tell you, but in an attempt to keep from boring you until you want to gouge your eyes out, I’ll make this as brief as I can.
What I’ve been doing:
I’ve worn many hats in my lifetime. I’ve been a secretary, a nail tech, an English teacher at both secondary and college levels. In between times, I’ve sold both Avon and Mary Kay (I know!) I freelance and ghostwrite online and off.
I’ve been married for 16 years with three children.
I received both my Bachelors and Masters in English from the University of Toledo. While there, I was lucky enough to receive the Helen M. Fields Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the Field of English in 2007.
My undergrad concentration was Creative Writing yet somehow I’ve become a technical writer, which wasn’t quite what I envisioned. I thought I’d have several novels published by this time in my life, but currently I have none. I’ve been working on a Christian non-fiction book for the past year, but I’ve been falling victim to a combination of blogging and procrastination that has caused me to leave the book undone. Of course, I’m not giving up, but it’s definitely taking longer than I’d hoped.
It seems that right now I’m doing more writing for everyone else than for myself. I’d like continue freelancing and blogging – hopefully at a level that will eventually replace my day job as a technical writer. I want to be in business for myself – I want to work to bring my dreams and those of my family to fruition.
Since I’ve finally finished my book Be a Blessing: 77 Ways to Bless Others, I feel like I’m one step closer. No, it’s not published yet, I’m currently researching my options, but if you know of a good Christian book publisher, please let me know – you can leave it in the comments section below.
Church Ministries:
I’m the editor of my church newsletter (youth department), I’m a part of the Mime Ministry (yes, white paint and robes – watch the video of you have moment), and I’m a regular attendee of the Monthly Women’s Book Club and weekly Bible Study. I’m also a member of the Annual Women’s Retreat Committee.
What I love:
I love traveling with my family. We’ve traveled all around the eastern US: Chicago (my fav), Detroit, Cleveland, Virginia Beach (another fav), Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Mississippi and wherever else in between. I eventually want to make it out west and see places such as LA, Vegas, and Phoenix. I’d like to go on a few mission trips to places like South Africa and Jamaica, maybe even Haiti. One day I’d like to tour in England, France, Mexico and China just because.
I love arts and crafts: sewing, painting, jewelry making, photography and scrap-booking.
I collect Barbies, Brats dolls and I love doll house miniatures.
I hate to admit it, but I also love the Sims 2 – haven’t gotten 3 yet because I’m in rehab – I admit that I have a slight addiction, so I can only give myself permission to play when I’ve gotten all my work done – which never happens, so there’s the solution. I just couldn’t continue allow myself to continue spending countless hours on frivolous activities that produce no lasting results in the real world. But to keep all honesty here, I had to admit my weakness.
Where I’ve been:
I’ve lived in Atlanta, GA and Columbia, SC, but I’m back in my hometown in Ohio and somehow I’ve found a strange new appreciation for it. I didn’t want to move back here, but the cost of living made it the best option. Since I’ve returned I’ve decided to make the best of it. I’ve learned to enjoy the snowfall in the lonnng winter and the gloomy and rainy spring. But it pays off in summer because the temperature is warm, but not too hot and the blue skies are unmatchable anywhere else.
Anyway, that is me. If you’re still reading I guess that means you still have both of your eyes and have chosen not to gouge them out in boredom.

@Ms. Freeman – Yes, I sure do. When I get some time I’m going to post some pictures of some of my work. But at this moment, I have no clue when that will be…
