So what’s this book about?
So many times people think they have to do something super extraordinary to make a difference in the lives of others. But that’s not so, the best blessings are often those that are simple and practical everyday-type things that you may not consider special, but to the one in need, it can be inspiring and uplifting. A lot of us shy away from being the blessing we were meant to be, not because we’re selfish, but simply because we haven’t yet realized the full significance of the matter.
When it comes to daily living, most of us are so busy just trying to keep it all together that taking time out to be a blessing to others just hasn’t crossed the mind. This book is here to remind you if you’ve forgotten or to encourage you if you haven’t yet realized that God wants us to bless others with the blessings He’s already given us.
He didn’t intend for us to hoard our blessings and keep them to ourselves. Instead, He wants us to share our joy, to set a positive example of generosity and to be a blessing so that others might be inspired do the same.
Throughout this book, I’ll be exploring what it means to be a blessing to others, why we should be a blessing, the benefits, and the roadblocks that interfere whenever we attempt to commit our lives to helping others. The last section of this book will give you some ideas for what you can do for others. Some are very simple and practical while others may be more complicated and may even present a challenge to your comfort zone. I encourage you to try them all at least once, starting with the ones that interest you the most. In the appendix of this book, there are resources for further study, questions for reflection, as well as a simple schedule planner.
I pray this book will inspire you to spread love and joy to those around you in such a huge way that the blessings you bestow upon others will reverberate and multiply in your heart. I pray you will have a mighty “Overflowing-Cup” experience, so much so that you will have no choice but to pull someone else’s cup next to yours to share the blessings. I pray you will come to see the value in the small things you can do for others that can make the biggest difference.
