Over the weekend, I watched The Book of Eli.
It was the story of a man, living during times that I would classify as the period of Tribulation.
He had nothing except what he could carry in a backpack and an unwavering, strong urge to keep walking West.
He really had no idea about where he was going except that he had to deliver a very important book, the last survivng Bible, to a place he’d never been and wasn’t really sure it even existed.
Something… a voice, had told him that he had to stay on the path, no matter what, until he could make it to his destination.
Along the way he encountered thieves and cannibals and even people who wanted to steal his book. They threatened to kill him at every turn, yet he knew that if he just stayed on the path, that he would be protected.
He had accepted his assignment and refused to let anything get in his way.
How faithful is that? It had me wondering if I were in the same position, would I be able to stay the course? Would I have as much faith?
There have been times when I’ve followed my heart and started what thought was an assignment from God, only to be swayed a few days or weeks later when something threatened my stability or finances.
There would always be an excuse for why I couldn’t continue. There was never enough time or money or energy or whatever – it was easy to convince me that I was unable to do what I knew needed to be done.
It took me years to realize that my writing was a God-given talent that was to be used as a ministry/mission to help and encourage others. I kept listening to the voice that told me that wasn’t real “work.” But words do in deed have power – that’s why that Bible was so important… because the words it contained was an energy source to the weak, encouragement to the fearful, guidance to the lost, and comfort to the weary.
Of course, everyone’s path is different. Yours is different from mine and others. But no matter what it is, once you discover it, will you have staying power? Will you be able to stay focused on the task before you? Would you have enough faith?

You must walk by Faith and not by Sight. We have not seen this film yet, however, have heard several good reviews from friends.
Many times on our Spiritual Walk we went off course. Satan has a way of doing this by tricking you into thinking God won’t provide. He leads you to believe you need to depend on your own provisions. Thus when you feel financially unable to continue, as one example, you tend to try and find another way. One that you better understand.
However, the Bible states, Gods way is not of our understanding!
Trust in Him!

I liked the movie. Didn’t see that little twist coming at the end. I couldn’t figure out if he was that way the whole movie or if it was just the last fifteen minutes after he lost his glasses.
Then I realized that he wore sunglasses all day and all night regardless of the time. Therefore, they must have been suggesting that he was like that from the beginning.

Kiesha, this is really an interesting read. It definitely strike a cord with me! Over the years working in the Lord’s vineyard I’ve had course to give up. I’ve always asked why carry on when around it seems nothing is working out? But there seems to be something that have always pushed me on. I’ve just launched a blog where I really want to share my thoughts on this great journey of our glorious life in Christ. I’m looking forward to the Lord helping me to do a great work for Him with this.

This was an excellent movie and I thought the conviction to ones faith was absolute, the movie also showed how powerful religion can be and how it can be misused in the wrong hands.
