Day 22:
Purpose #3-
You were created to become like Christ
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)
As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. 2 Corinthians 3:18b (NLT)
Question to Consider:
In what area of my life do I need to ask for the Spirit’s power to be like Christ today?
Just like I indicated last year, there are still many areas of my life that I need help with. I really don’t even know where to start. I’ve been growing increasingly tired – that means I have very little energy left to do much beyond getting home and getting some rest. I really have to push myself to keep going and some days, I just can’t do it – I have to tell people that I’m unable to do as much for them because of the way I feel. I do my best, but I don’t know how pleasing it is to God when I choose to say, “no” to people.
I’m grateful that most people are very understanding, they realize I have a lot of commitments, but there are a few who aren’t as understanding and who are instead disappointed that I can’t help as much as I used to.
All I can do right now, is remind myself that like the redwood tree, Warren speaks of in this chapter, it took years for it to reach its 350 foot height. Sometimes growth is slow, but I know I’m still growing.
How about you?
