I do not have a green thumb, but I admire those who do. My grandmother always had beautiful plants and flowers in both her yard and her home. She could grow anything. In fact I can recall people bringing dying plants to her to revive and bring back to life. Unfortunately, I did not inherit this gift from her.
Notwithstanding this fact, I endeavored to beautify my yard so I planted some hedges along my fence line. I watered and fed them in an attempt to help them grow, and I was quite disappointed when after a year I saw no results.
However this spring I was delighted to see my hedges not only growing but blooming beautiful flowers as well. Despite my limited gardening skills, it seems the work and effort I put into them last year has begun to pay off.
My little gardening experience teaches me a great lesson about life. Although I may not see immediate results, my hard work and preparation will eventually yield results. We were all created for something great. Cultivate your gifts and begin to bloom right where you’re planted.
So single or married, great worth has been deposited within you. You have been given gifts that the body of Christ needs. What’s more is your gifts are not just for you.
“…A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” – I Corinthians 12:4-7 NLT
The body of Christ vitally needs what you have to offer. The effort you put into cultivating and sharing your gift will reap great benefits for not just you, but the world at large. Great rewards await you and I for one can’t wait to see the blooms of your life.
How are you using your gift to bloom in this season of life?

Sometimes, I often forget to allow God to use me. This was very encouraging and drove home a very important point. “I need to Bloom where I am planted” and not try to do otherwise. Greatly enjoyed and needed this!

Like you, I don’t possess green thumb, but I love flowers and plants. They brighten up my day.
Your post is really motivating and I agree with you. We need to bloom where we planted, no matter how impossible it may seem to be. In the end, it will all be paid.
