Marriage Monday
With schedules that constantly conflict and the regular busy-ness that comes with family life, it’s hard to make time for regular date nights. Then securing a babysitter on top of it all, if we waited until everything was perfect to have a date, we’d never get one.
Is it less romantic?
In my opinion, marriage is what you make it. Of course somethings will have be sacrificed in order to have a date that everyone can enjoy – but that doesn’t mean that you can’t hold hands and enjoy some great quality time together.
Now that the weather is breaking, there are quite a few options for enjoying both family time and date time.
So here’s some fun ideas for a date night (or day) that the whole family can enjoy:
- On the next sunny Saturday, just jump in the car and go for a ride with no particular destination, then stop at the most appetizing restaurant or ice cream shop for a treat.
- It’s kite season, take the family out to the nearest field and enjoy the windy weather.
- Take the family out to the park, let the kids play while you enjoy some hand-holding on the nearest bench. If the park has a pond or lake, take a walk along the shore together.
- Take the family out to dinner and a movie.
- Go out for a round of bowling.
- Go out for some mini-golfing.
- Go out for a picnic.
- Go camping and take a separate tent for the kids.
As always, I’m asking that you please add to this list, I’m compiling this for my own family, so your help is needed. List everything you can think of – don’t worry if you think it might sound boring, you never know, what one person might not enjoy, another might. So sound off!

Here are some things that we do as a family: bbq’s at the beach, go for walks/bike rides, we have a family games night every Friday night and we play Wii together.

my sons starts his holiday on thursday and we’ve decided to go to the zoo and museum at the weekend. last week i bought him a scooter and we went to the park lol!! i feel it’s absolutely important we create time for our children.
