Highly Favored

Part of me can’t believe it’s been a year since I’ve started this blog and the other part feels as if so much has happened in this year that it feels like a much longer period of time.

I’ve grown in ways I hadn’t expected to and I finally did what I said I was going to – that I was going to write. I started this blog with a vague idea that I’d use it to write inspirational and encouraging posts and that I’d make a little Adsense revenue in process. I knew I wanted to have a blog already going so that when I’m finally able to publish my book – I’d have one more place to promote it.

I have to honestly say that I’m not totally proud of my naivete in the beginning, my lack of a clear vision hindered me a bit and I wasn’t really sure if there was even a place for me and my kind of writing in the blogosphere. I didn’t really even know if anyone would even care about what I have to say.

What I didn’t expect to happen, was meeting and interacting with all of you wonderful readers who do care. I’m so grateful for those of you who leave comments and who visit regularly. You encourage me that what I am doing here is worthwhile – that it’s not just hours I’m spending and wasting on writing to a void. I’m pretty sure that without your positive feedback, I might have chocked this one up as a loss months ago. So thank you.

I pray this blog will continue to increase and be of value to you.

Of course this is an occasion to celebrate, but I find value in reflecting and in taking a serious look at what went well and being honest about what didn’t. I can only go so far without any exterior input. So I really need you to help me with that today. I try to keep a variety of topics going, but are there any issues you’d like me to write more about? Are you getting tired of the Marriage Monday posts? Are you getting tired of hearing about the mundane details of my life yet?

As promised I’m revealing the winners of the $25 Gift Card and the free Ad space. I didn’t use some high tech randomizer, I instead wrote the names of all the entrants on a piece of paper, threw them in a bag and swirled them around. The first name my four-year-old pulled out of the bag is the recipient of free ad space for 30 days.  The second name, the winner of a $25 Gift Card.
