30 AugI Kept Reading

BibleBefore I begin this post, I first want to thank everyone who has been reading and commenting on the posts in this blog. I may not have been able to respond to each one individually, but I truly have appreciated all of your feedback. I see many of you are from all around the world. I thank God for you and pray many blessings upon you. It touches my heart to know that my meek and humble worlds have made there way across continents and oceans and hopefully to your hearts. It’s a blessing to me just to be able to write to you.

I wanted to share with you my most recent accomplishment – one that I know without the help of the Holy Spirit wouldn’t have been possible. Today, I finished reading through the entire Holy Bible from Genesis 1 to Revelaton 22 after three years of making the commitment to do so. I was inspired by Pastor Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life (no surprise, huh?). I used his read the entire Bible in a year plan, but as you can see, it took me much longer (I admit I am a little slow). But, despite how long it’s taken me, I’m just glad that I was able to finish.

There were times when I was unable to read and times when I had no excuse for not reading. But as I look back I see that God worked with even my downfalls. Whenever I would go through a period of where I was stuck in a particular book, somehow my pastor at church would end up teaching us about that very book during Bible Study. I had gotten stuck at the beginning of Revelations, within days, my Pastor was teaching and explaining its symbolism, chapter by chapter. Had I tried to get through it alone, I would have been utterly confused. So I thank God for working with me, even in my times of weakness.

Praise God, I made it through the entire 66 books – now it’s time to go back and study. Let’s see how that goes… :-)
