The Truth Transforms Me
If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32 (KJV)
Question for Consideration:
What has God already told me in his Word that I haven’t started doing yet?
I need to start working on my book again. I started a book last year, and then I got discouraged and stop working on it. I kept feeling like I wasn’t saying anything new – nor did anyone want to read what I had to say. I didn’t feel like my words would inspire anyone. On top of that came test after test that made me question myself – how could I encourage others if I couldn’t even practice what I was preaching? It felt hypocritical so I stopped. Despite countless sermon’s and messages I’ve received over this past year I haven’t been able to pick it back up.
God has constantly been assuring me that I have to go through what I’m trying to teach others about so that through experience I can understand the pitfalls and trials they will face along the way – it will make me better prepared to teach them. Yet, I’ve been procrastinating. I keep telling myself that there must be something else I have to learn that must be blocking me. I pray that God will help me move beyond whatever it is because I don’t want to continue witholding a message that could be the key, even if only to one person’s breakthrough. I don’t want to be a hindrance by omission.
Important Quotes:
“When God speaks, things change.” (Warren, 185)
“God’s Word is the spiritual nourishment you must have to fulfill your purpose.” (Warren, 186)
“There are more Bibles in print today than ever before, but a Bible on the shelf is worthless. Millions of believers are plagued with spiritual anorexia, starving to death from spiritual malnutrition. To be a healthy disciple of Jesus, feeding on God’s Word must be your first priority.” (Warren, 186)
“It’s not enough to just believe the Bible; I must fill my mind with it so that hte Holy Spirit can transform me with the truth. There are five ways to do this: You can receive it, read it, research it, remember it, and reflect on it.” (Warren, 188)
“Anytime you feel you are not learning anything from a sermon or a Bible teacher, you should check your attitude, especially for pride, because God can speak through even the most boring teacher when you are humble and receptive.” (Warren, 188)
“If you cut out one thirty-minute television program a day and read your Bible instead, you will read through the entire Bible twice a year.” (Warren, 188)
“Daily Bible reading will keep you in range of God’s voice.” (Warren, 188)
“Without implementation, all our Bible studies are worthless.” (Warren, 191)
“The best way to be a ‘doer of the Word’ is to always write our an action step as a result of your reading or studying or reflecting on God’s Word. Develop the habit of writing down exactly what you intend to do. This action step should be personal (involving you), practical (something you can do), and provable (with a deadline to do it). Every application will involve either your relationship to God, your relationship to others, or your personal character.” (Warren, 192)

Hi Keasley,
Resume working on your book.
Today I signed with a literary agent for the book I have co-written.
It's a long journey but listening to the guidance from within and through prayer ensures that you continue to fulfill God's plan for you. As you know, he will equip you, not let you fail!

I wanted you to know that I'm keeping my eye on the good things that you do. As you may know my hands are full with projects and I've not commented much. however you dedication is noticed… keep it up.
P.S. The advise from Margaret on your book is encouragement for both of us.
Blessings,
Matt.
