26 MayDay 16: What Matters Most

Life is All About Love

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Galatians 5:14 (KJV)

The entire law is summed up in a single command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Galatians 5:14 (NIV)

Question to Consider:
Honestly, are relationships my first priority? How can I ensure that they are?
Honestly speaking, as a student I am guilty of not spending enough time with my family and friends. To look at my life, I’ve spent so much of my time in school. If I had done things right, finished school first, then got married, then had children, I wouldn’t have had to do it this way. But I did things out of order and now everything is out of whack because of it.

As of May 10th, I’m done now so I want to get my priorities straight. I don’t know how long I’ll be without a job, but while I’m home, I’m going to do my best to spend time with the people I care about. The task seems overwhelming because there are so many people, but I’ll do my best. Those I can’t see in person, I can call, those I can call, I can write and whenever I can, I’ll try to round them all up (like on yesterday) and have a family cookout.

To keep my focus – I’ll remind myself that time is an expression of my love – without spending time with loved ones, how will they know I love them?
